Our Story

Since 2011, Healthy Workplaces has been motivating employees around the world to #QuitTheSit. We do this through our highly engaging, corporate wellness initiatives: Tour de Office and Step Forward. Over the past 11 years, we’ve supported over 150 companies and over 20,000 participants with our programs. Participants have accumulated enough kilometres to do a few laps of the globe, and have raised over $1.3 million for charity in the process. It’s been an incredible journey, and we’re excited to continue bringing people together across the world, to stay active and keep moving.

Tour de Office

As you are here to know more about us, our team and our journey let me start from the beginning. Once known as Sore Bums. The Tour de Office we know and love today came from humble beginnings at the home of Scout Talent. In 2011, our founder (Tudor Marsen-Huggins) came up with the great idea. Having a stationary bike in the office for 2 weeks during the Tour de France. The aim was to reintroduce a bit of fun to his co-workers. All while encouraging people to squeeze in 30 mins of activity.

Step Forward

step forward healthy workplaces

With the covid-19 pandemic came an influx of restrictions, forcing many to work from home. This presented the perfect opportunity for us to broaden our horizons. Find new ways to continue supporting the health and wellbeing of the workforce, even out of the office. And so, Step Forward was born!. The free-to-use, app based stepping challenge provided new ways of helping organisations support their people virtually, even world wide.

In the beginning, through sponsorship, we provided challenges that organisations were invited to join free of charge. This allowed us to help organisations wanting to support their people during the incredibly tough time. Today, we offer both our free global challenge. Along with our paid, private challenges that cater to a whole range of company, and individual, needs.

Step Forward is much more than just a stepping challenge. Through our dedicated team at Healthy Workplaces, we provide a fully supported, team wellness initiative to maximise motivation and engagement of participants.
